CAUSING CANCER

What Is The Purpose Of Roundup?

The herbicide known as Roundup is designed mainly for farmers to act as a weed killer. Agricultural workers spray it on their pre-treated crops to prevent weeds from ruining their precious crops. Monsanto Roundup uses its main ingredient glyphosate to block proteins essential to plant growth to complete this process. It is one of the most widely used weed killers and can usually be found in the garage of an active gardener.

The Monsanto Roundup Lawsuit

In July 2015, the World Health Organization deemed Roundup’s main ingredient, glyphosate, as “probably carcinogenic to humans.” After this announcement, thousands began to come forward accusing Monsanto of putting the lives of their consumers in danger for profit. In a previous blog post, we discussed how Monsanto Roundup has been linked to cancer. However, latest developments have found that the best-selling weed killer may cause other diseases as well.

Additional Diseases Caused By Roundup Besides Cancer

Monsanto Roundup causes more harm besides cancer. Take a look at additional diseases Monsanto Roundup has been linked to...

Alzheimer’s Disease: When tested in a lab, Roundup has been shown to cause the same type of oxidative strain and neural cell death as detected in Alzheimer’s disease. The herbicide has also been shown to affect the enzyme known as CaMKII, whose mutilation has been associated to the illness.

Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS): It is believed that Roundup’s main ingredient, glyphosate disturbs sulfate transport from the gut to the liver. This disruption may result in sulfate deficiency throughout the body. The sulfate deficiency may also occur in the brain, which has been linked to ALS.

Parkinson’s Disease: Many herbicides have been associated with brain damage. This impairment has been recognized as a cause for neurodegenerative conditions like Parkinson’s disease. When researched further, it has been found that glyphosate causes the similar death of cells found in Parkinson’s.

Additional Roundup Injuries And Side Effects

Side effects of Roundup range from mild to life threatening. Glyphosate has been known to cause mild skin and eye irritation. This may occur if you are using a product containing the ingredient or not washing your hands after encountering it. Some individuals have reported nose and throat irritation due to the spray mist application. If swallowed, glyphosate may cause burns in the mouth and throat, increased saliva, nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. Fatalities have been reported in instances of intentional consumption.
